Youth Peer Health Educators Recognized by Community Leaders – Fund-raising Breakthrough!

Our colleague, Betty Liduke, Coordinator of Highlands Hope Umbrella and Director of the TANWAT Care and Treatment Centre writes:

Dear HHU Friends,

I hope you're all well.

On Saturday 20/10/2012 was a very successful day when all YPHE from 4 villages met together at Nyumbanitu for the event of receiving their Identity Cards for the YPHE. YPHE from standard seven have finished primary school and they will be joining secondary education.

The guest of owner at the event was Ward Education Officer who represented the District Education Officer, other guest was Ward Development Officer, 4 village chairmen from Nyumbanitu, Mlevela, Itulike, Maheve, Headteachers from 4 villages, CHAKUNIMU members and Peer Health Educators from PIUTA and others.

It was a memorial day as the guest of owner started to raise funds for helping CHAKUNIMU for their daily activities on that day total amount of 63,000 Tz shillings (about C$ 50) was collected.
